Ok they have world class players in every position, but what was disappointing was the huge difference in sharpness, speed and fitness . We are lagging behind in our training regime and it needs to change quickly.
If Bilic and his assistants don't have the capabilities to improve performance, then we can't push on.

Losing to a vastly superior team last night was nothing to do with the stadium, or pitch size (it isn't that much bigger)! MC were simply on fire & much better than us. Our only player who could regularly get into their side would be Winston Reid! A pattern has emerged this season where we are way behind the big 6 teams & have got very few points from them. However we have picked up a lot of points from the teams in the bottom half of the table. Yes that's predictable, but we are better than the strugglers & will no doubt pick up enough points to finish where we currently are, in mid table!
Although MC outclassed us, they also got "the rub of the green" once again on refereeing decisions. It happened to us all last season & seems to be doing the same this one as well!
Last night was disappointing, but fortunately we don't play MC every week & we will pick up many points from the "ordinary teams" to play in the future!

Grumps- that's fair enough but if I'd made the effort to get there I'd at least stick it out to 60 minutes I reckon!

To be fair those who stayed had a decent (for the OS) sing song in the second half, and gave a good reception to Snodgrass when he came on. I wanted to stick around to see how he did.

Its like the pitch is twice the size and we have 1 or 2 less players than the opposition and cant get close to anyone of them to close them down.

This doesn't happen, or hasn't happened this season, away from home as far as I remember.

Had a skim through the TVs TV guide and West ham are on at the civilized time 10pm on Saturday , Chelsea v Arse before that , bore-fest probably maybe a punch up if Wenger turns up. Got to better than 4am 0-4 thrashings

Can't argue with that.

I just don't think we should dwell too much. If it was Sunderland who just turned us over like that there'd be more reason to justify knicker wetting.

People are already slagging off Fonte, who was pretty poor, but he hasn't played for a while and at 33 can't be blamed for not keeping up the pace with the likes of Sane. But Ginge wouldn't have faired any better. I still see Fonte being a half decent signing who needs some regular game time.

Like I said, wipe our mouths and move on...

I spent good money on tickets to watch us play Chelsea and went there knowing we would get beat as Chelsea were flying at the top of the league with Costa banging them in and Hazard on fire, ok those two came of the bench later, but we put up a fight closed them down and won. Didn't matter if we had lost, just want to see 100% effort, they get paid fortunes, the players owe it to the fans to put some effort in.

People just aren't enjoying it scorch and would rather have a beer.

At Upton Park you sort of thought we could have a comeback, but so far in the OS, there hasn't been a single comeback has there, or even look like being one?

I can't wait to go to Southampton Saturday, shame I'll never have that feeling again about a home game ever.

Do behave, nothing to do with the ground- It is possible to generate an atmosphere in there, as long as all the moaners just accept it and allow themselves to have a good time- try it

"we know we're going to have a tough time against the top 6."

We didn't last season.

West Ham United have conceded 4 or more goals on four occasions at the London Stadium in 17 games.

West Ham United conceded 4 or more goals on four occasions in the last 95 games at Upton Park

Or if you prefer...

West Ham United have conceded 4 or more goals in three of 12 premier league games at London Stadium - the same as in the last 106 at Upton Park

It's the cesspit. The facts don't lie.

Pervy everyone knew we would get beat, they just wanted for us to put up a fight, try and make a game of it, give us something to shout about you know, not much to ask really when many have travelled far and wide and spent their hard earned to get there and support the club.

Millhouse? hahaha blimey I haven't been called that since I first came on here. Can definitely confirm I am not Millhouse, sorry to disappoint.

And no, not acceptable. At no point did I use the words it was acceptable. I just think peoples expectations were raised a little too high off the back of some good results and without Payet. But we know we can beat those sorts of teams and we know we're going to have a tough time against the top 6.

I understand what you're saying as it was a pretty bad performance on our part but they have the sort of players that make our players look worse than they are. Or force mistakes. If we had a good enough defence to cope with City's attack we wouldn't be in this mess.

Did anyone really expect much else? 2 wins on the trot against mediocre opposition doesn't make us worthy of beating City.

Nope. As we've only taken two points off the current top 8 this season, was expecting a defeat. Unlike last season when we would have finished top of a "top 8" only league.

Still have 5 of the top 8 to play at home.

Did anyone really expect much else? 2 wins on the trot against mediocre opposition doesn't make us worthy of beating City. They haven't been brilliant, granted, but that aside their attacking trio were pacey and deadly. Backed up by the likes of Silva and DeBruyne

Antonio aside, we must be one of the slowest teams in the Prem. And we came up against one of the paciest in attack. It was going to happen. It doesn't make good viewing but it was going to happen.

Pick ourselves up and move the fuck on...

Also had 3 rinkie dinkies sat behind me last night, they had bought returned season tickets, and they were obviously only there to see Aguero as they only livened up when he came on. Fuck knows what they would have been like if he scored. That makes it less enjoyable as well.

I wanted to leave after about 60 minutes last night as I can't stand exhibition games or testimonials. It was only my boy that kept me there til the end.

I will probably keep going for him and to see my mates but it's not football as I know it anymore. They are a good team City but there is a lot of their game that I don't like; going down and laying there after a tackle until they get a free kick or the game is stopped, waving imaginary cards, snidely little fouls that they get away with, all the arm throwing gestures after every challenge. I look at us in comparison and think that we don't cheat enough and that isn't right.

Can you imagine Sterling against Frank Lampard senior? If only.

To compete against such opposition need to be aggressive, closing down in numbers, harrying not watching waiting for them to carve open.
